Ironframe Train hard.Track harder.
How this boutique strength gym replaced spreadsheet programming with a real workout-tracking app.
Every member's programlived in a shared spreadsheet.
Ironframe's coaches wrote weekly programs into a shared Google Sheet, and members screenshotted their row every Monday. Progress tracking was manual and inconsistent, and nobody could see trends over time.
An enterprise gym-management platform was quoted at £30,000+ a year in licensing. Appin500 built the one thing members actually needed: their program and their numbers, in their pocket.
Members were literally screenshotting a spreadsheet cell. We needed better than that.”
Cut the licensing fee.Keep the coach's voice.Ship the tracker.
Digitise the weekly program
Coaches input the week's program once; every member sees their own version instantly, no screenshots.
Build a real logging flow
Sets, reps and weight logged in seconds mid-session, not written on a hand towel and forgotten.
Ship tracking before community
Progress tracking and programs launched first. Leaderboards and social features were deliberately scoped for later.
Five things that replacedthe spreadsheet.
Feature 01: Weekly program view
This week's session, laid out clearly, pulled directly from the coach's plan.
Feature 02: One-tap set logging
Log weight and reps between sets without breaking rest time fumbling with an app.
Feature 03: Progress charts per lift
Every major lift charted over time, so members see the trend, not just today's number.
Feature 04: Coach broadcast messages
Coaches post programme changes or gym closures to every member at once.
Feature 05: Streak & consistency tracking
A simple streak counter that rewards showing up, not just hitting a new PR.
Fourteen days.Every member logging by week two.
Before you Take a Leap
Can you build any app for £500?
No. £500 is the starting point for a tightly scoped MVP with one core function. We’ll tell you what fits, what needs a larger package and what can wait for a later phase.
Is this a working app or just a design?
The agreed deliverable is a functional first version, not only static screens. The exact platform, features, backend and handover are defined before work begins.
Will I own my app?
You receive the project source code after final payment. Any third-party components remain subject to their own licences, which are identified during handover.
Can I add features later?
Yes. We can quote separately for additional features, integrations and ongoing support as your product grows.
How quickly can I launch?
Starter projects target 7–14 days after scope approval and receipt of required content and access. Complex features and app store review can take longer. Your quote confirms the delivery plan.
That app idea? Let’s hear it.
You don’t need a perfect brief. Just tell us what you have in mind — we’ll help you find the right first step.
